An Imaginary Trip To Ireland
An Imaginary Trip To Ireland is the next best thing to an actual trip to the Emerald Isle. By providing Irish storytelling mixed with traditional Irish music, Irish step-dancing and other delightful elements of her homeland, Deirdre McCarthy will delight her audience with the fun, beauty, charm and imagery of Ireland.

Born and raised in Limerick City, Ireland, Deirdre McCarthy (nee Mulcahy) now resides in Central Square, NY with her husband, Jim, and two sons, Cian & Shane. Deirdre has been sharing her love of her homeland in schools, libraries and festivals all across New York State since 1995. She has performed for the Irish-American Cultural Institute and, as a member of AmeriCorps, presented a year-long series of Irish Culture presentations in schools throughout Oswego County in 2002. Deirdre was also the featured storyteller at the 2005 Memphis-In-May International Festival. In addition, Deirdre teaches Irish language lessons at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY; Irish dance lessons at Central Square Intermediate School and she performs with The Syracuse Irish Session and The Rose Tree, both traditional Irish groups. And since 2007, Deirdre has been thrilled to be performing with her family, The McCarthy Family Singers, at the New York State Fair. A CD will be available shortly.
